A few hours. A night. A weekend. That’s all it takes to change a dog’s life. While our team provides top-notch care, nothing compares to the comfort of a home—even for a short stay. A break from the shelter can reduce stress, improve well-being, and help us learn more about a dog’s personality outside of the shelter environment.

What you provide:

A safe, loving space for a few hours, a night, or longer
Basic care, including food, water, and affection
Transportation to and from Gigi's for adoption meetings or medical care
Opportunities for socialization—walks, car rides, or time around people and pets
Photos, videos, and feedback on how your foster dog does in a home and out in the community

What Gigi's provides:

All supplies—food, medication, blankets, bowls, toys, a crate, and a leash
A dedicated team to answer questions and provide guidance
Flexibility for long-term and short-term fosters, or just an afternoon field trip

How it works

Sign up – Fill out our quick form to join our foster team.
Get matched – We’ll highlight dogs most needing a foster home each week.
Take them home – Pick up your foster dog and give them a well-earned break.
Share the love – Provide care, socialization, and updates, photos and videos on how they’re doing.
Bring them back – Return them to Gigi’s in Canal Winchester for adoption meetings or medical care.
